Gregor's Crossing 2010
Event overview
Gregor’s Crossing was just amazing this year. We met many of our old friends and made new ones. At this event Scallagrims took part in spectacular battles that included castle siege and one-on-one combats. As always, we had fun evenings at camp fire with food and entertainment.
Presentations
Weapons and Armor Demonstrations
During this year’s Medieval Faire, Scallagrims represented two cultures: Vikings, which we’ve been demonstrating since 2007 and our recent research – Kievan Russ. We had set up a small area in the camp for event visitors to view and feel medieval weapons and armor of the periods of Medieval Russ and Vikings.
Combat
During the event Scallagrims were presenting one-on-one medieval combats on arena of our friends, Blackthorn Productions.
We also demonstrated combat and tactical formations in full combat gear. We started to actively train all our members in this area around a year ago, and constantly keep enhancing and improving their skill in following commands.
Closer to the end of the day, Scallagrims, Blackthonrn Production and other fighters performed epic battles with castle siege. All of participants were demonstrating great skill in Archery, handling siege equipment and melee combat. This was tried for the first time at Gregor’s Crossing and everyone seemed to love it.
Leisure Time
Every evening, at Scallagrims camp, many of those who stayed at Fair Ground came to our camp fire and fun continued. There was plenty of food and entertainment. Scallagrims did an impressive fire-show with flaming poi and staff.
